Copyright and
Terms of Use
About the terms:
pvec.net is a global term and comprises all of the internet domains
associated with PVEC.
Access to and use of 'pvec.net' both within the UK and internationally
is provided by ABC Bristol on the following terms:
1. By using pvec.net you agree to be bound
by these terms, which shall take effect immediately on your first use of
pvec.net. If you do not agree to be bound by all of the following terms
please do not access, use and/or contribute to pvec.net.
2. PVEC may change these terms from
time to time and so you should check these terms regularly. Your
continued use of pvec.net will be deemed acceptance of the updated or
amended terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should cease
using this website. If there is any conflict between these terms and
specific local terms appearing elsewhere on pvec.net (including house
rules) then the latter shall prevail.
Use of PVEC.net:
3. You agree to use pvec.net only for
lawful purposes, and in a way that does not infringe the rights of,
restrict or inhibit anyone else's use and enjoyment of pvec.net.
Prohibited behaviour includes harassing or causing distress or
inconvenience to any person, transmitting obscene or offensive content
or disrupting the normal flow of dialogue within pvec.net.
Intellectual Property:
4. All copyright, trade marks, design
rights, patents and other intellectual property rights (registered and
unregistered) in and on pvec.net and all content (including all
applications) located on the site shall remain vested in the PVEC or its
licensors (which includes other users). You may not copy, reproduce,
republish, disassemble, decompile, reverse engineer, download, post,
broadcast, transmit, make available to the public, or otherwise use
pvec.net content in any way except for your own personal, non-commercial
use. You also agree not to adapt, alter or create a derivative work from
any pvec.net content except for your own personal, non-commercial use.
Any other use of pvec.net content requires the prior written permission
of PVEC.
5. The names, images and logos
identifying PVEC or third parties and their products and services are
subject to copyright, design rights and trade marks of PVEC and/or third
parties. Nothing contained in these terms shall be construed as
conferring any licence or right to use any trade mark, design right or
copyright of PVEC or any other third party.
Contributions to PVEC:
6. By sharing any contribution
(including any text, photographs, graphics, video or audio) with PVEC
you agree to grant to PVEC, free of charge, permission to use the
material in any way it wants (including modifying and adapting it for
operational and editorial reasons) in any media worldwide (including on
the pvec.net website which may be accessed by international users). You
may not later withdraw this permission.
7. Copyright in your contribution will
remain with you and this permission is not exclusive, so you can
continue to use the material in any way including allowing others to use
it.
8. In order that PVEC can use your
contribution, you confirm that your contribution is your own original
work, is not defamatory and does not infringe any UK laws, that you have
the right to give PVEC permission to use it for the purposes specified
above, and that you have the consent of anyone who is identifiable in
your contribution or the consent of their parent / guardian if they are
under 16.
9. We normally show your name with your
contribution, unless you request otherwise, but for operational reasons
this is not always possible. PVEC may need to contact you for
administrative or verification purposes in relation to your
contribution, or in relation to particular projects. For full details of
when and how we may contact you please see PVEC's
Privacy Policy plus any
local terms where applicable.
10. Please do not endanger yourself or
others, take any unnecessary risks or break any laws when creating
content you may share with PVEC.
11. If you do not want to grant PVEC
the permission set out above on these terms, please do not submit or
share your contribution to or with pvec.net.

The opinions expressed and published on the PVEC.net website or it's forum, are
those of the contributors alone,
and
do not necessarily reflect those of the webmaster or of PVEC itself. Whilst
every attempt it made to avoid any
deliberate attempts to mislead or otherwise cause harm or damage to any person,
by any advertisement, message,
or
page on this website, the webmaster, his agents, the forum moderators, nor
PVEC itself, will not, in any way, be
held
responsible for the factual correctness, or any libellous statement made by any contributor to the website itself,

the open forums contained therein.

Moderators within the forums, will try to remove any offending, misleading, or
libellous messages that are posted,
but
cannot guarantee that these, if removed at all, will be removed before anyone
else has had the opportunity to

Gallery pictures and Copyright Issues.

If you hold provable copyright to any of the images on the
gallery pages, and those images have never been
reproduced
by PVEC in any form, as per clause 1, above. And you would like them to be removed from the gallery,
please get in
touch
with the webmaster (webmaster@PVEC.net) and we will take steps to remove them as soon as
possible.

8.
Where PVEC have previously
reproduced images (or other items) in whatever form, we shall assume that we hold
a
licence,
granted by the copyright holder, to reproduce the images as we see fit.
Submission of pictures and/or other material.
9.
By submitting digital pictures,
photographs, or other material to PVEC for publication in Sidestripe and/or on
PVEC.net,
you hereby agree that, by submitting items for one medium, you also agree to
those items being published
in any other
medium as PVEC see fit.
Items for sale by PVEC.
10.
Where PVEC offer reproductions of
images or other material. We will endeavour to obtain the written (including
e-mail)
permission, of either the person submitting the item, or, where they are not the
original copyright holder,
the permission
of that original copyright holder, if they are known.

Access to and use of this site ('PVEC.net') is provided by PVEC subject to the
following terms:

using PVEC.net you agree to be legally bound by these terms, which shall take

services), is provided "AS IS" and on an "IS AVAILABLE" basis without any
representations or any kind of warranty made (whether express or implied by law)
to the extent permitted by law, including the implied warranties of satisfactory
quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility,
security and accuracy.
6. Under no circumstances will
PVEC be liable for any of the following losses or damage (whether such losses
where foreseen, foreseeable, known or otherwise): (a) loss of data; (b) loss of
revenue or anticipated profits; (c) loss of business; (d) loss of opportunity;
(e) loss of goodwill or injury to reputation; (f) losses suffered by third
parties; or (g) any indirect, consequential, special or exemplary damages
arising from the use of PVEC.net regardless of the form of action.
7. While PVEC, and it's hosts
endeavour to ensure it, PVEC does not warrant that functions contained in
PVEC.net content will be uninterrupted or error free, that defects will be
corrected, or that PVEC.net or the server that makes it available are free of
viruses or bugs.
Intellectual Property
8. The names, images and logos
identifying the Police Vehicle Enthusiasts' Club or third parties and their
products and services are subject to copyright, design rights and trade marks of
PVEC and/or third parties. Nothing contained in these terms shall be construed
as conferring by implication, estoppels or otherwise any licence or right to use
any trademark, patent, design right or copyright of PVEC, or any other third
party.
Contributions to PVEC.net
9. Where you are invited
to submit any contribution to PVEC.net (including any text, photographs,
graphics, video or audio) you agree, by submitting your contribution, to grant
PVEC a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sub-licensable right and license
to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works
from, distribute, perform, play, make available to the public, and exercise all
copyright and publicity rights with respect to your contribution worldwide
and/or to incorporate your contribution in other works in any media now known or
later developed for the full term of any rights that may exist in your
contribution, and in accordance with privacy restrictions set out in the PVEC Privacy
Policy. If you do not want to grant to PVEC the rights
set out above, please do not submit your contribution to PVEC.net.
10. Further to paragraph 9, by
submitting your contribution to PVEC.net, you warrant that your contribution:
10.1. Is your own
original work and that you have the right to make it available to PVEC for all
the purposes specified above;
10.2. Is not defamatory;
and
10.3. Does not infringe
any law, copyright, or other intellectual property rights; and
10.4. Indemnify PVEC
against all legal fees, damages and other expenses that may be incurred by PVEC
as a result of your breach of
the above warranty; and
10.5. Waive any moral
rights in your contribution for the purposes of its submission to and
publication on PVEC.net or in Sidestripe,
the PVEC Quarterly magazine, and the purposes specified above.
PVEC.net Community Rules
11. You agree to use PVEC.net
Communities (including Message Boards) in accordance with the following
Community Rules. These apply across all PVEC.net community sites and services.
You should, however, read the rules of the particular site or service you're
using, as there may be some local variations to these Community Rules.
About your posts:
- Contributions must
be civil and tasteful
- No
disruptive, offensive or abusive behaviour:
contributions must be constructive and polite, not mean-spirited or
contributed with the intention of causing trouble.
- No unlawful
or objectionable content: unlawful,
harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane,
sexually oriented, racially offensive or otherwise objectionable material is
not acceptable.
- If you use
multiple logins for the purpose of disrupting the community or
annoying other users you may have action taken against your accounts.
- Be patient:
users of all ages and abilities may be taking part in the relevant PVEC.net
Community.
- No spamming
or off-topic material: we don't allow the
submission of the same or very similar contributions many times. Please
don't re-submit your contribution to more than one discussion, or contribute
off-topic material in subject-specific areas.
- No advertising,
unless previously agreed.
- No inappropriate
(e.g. vulgar, offensive etc) user names
- You may not
refer to specific URLs (web site addresses)
unless allowed under the relevant rules. If you know of a worthy web site
relevant to the discussion topic, please inform the moderator of the area.
- Deliberate
misuse of the complaints facility is not permitted.
If you persist in doing this action may be taken against your account.
Safety:
We advise that
you never reveal any personal information about yourself or anyone else (for
example: telephone number, home address or email address), and please do not
include postal addresses of any kind. If you have a helpful address to share,
inform the moderator of the relevant area by clicking on their forum user name.
They will then promote it if they see fit.
About the law:
- You may not submit any
defamatory or illegal material of any nature in PVEC.net Communities. This
includes text, graphics, video, programs or audio.
- Contributing material with
the intention of committing or promoting an illegal act is strictly
prohibited.
- You agree to only submit
materials which are your own original work. You must not violate,
plagiarise, or infringe the rights of third parties including copyright,
trade mark, trade secrets, privacy, publicity, personal or proprietary
rights.
- The views expressed in
PVEC.net Community areas are those of members of the public and are not
necessarily those of PVEC.
If you're under 16:
- Please get a parent's or
guardian's permission before taking part in any PVEC.net discussion.
- Never reveal any personal
information about yourself or anyone else (for example, telephone number,
home address or email address).
If you breach these Terms of
Use:
If you fail to
abide by these (and/or any variations in the relevant local house rules) when
taking part in a PVEC.net Community service, you will be sent an e-mail which
informs you why your contribution has been failed or edited. This mail will also
include a warning that continuing to break the rules may result in action being
taken against your account or accounts, this may also affect your continued
membership of PVEC.
This action
may include your relevant account or accounts being placed into pre-moderation
or a temporary or permanent suspension of your ability to participate in any or
all of PVEC.net Community areas.
If you post or
send offensive or inappropriate content anywhere on or to PVEC.net Communities
or otherwise engage in any disruptive behaviour on PVEC.net, and the PVEC
Management Committee considers such behaviour to be serious and/or repeated,
PVEC may use whatever information that is available to it about you to stop any
further such infringements. This may include informing relevant third parties
such as your employer, school or email provider, or local law enforcement agency
about the infringement/s.
PVEC reserves
the right to delete any contribution, or take action against any account, at any
time, for any reason.
General
12. If there is any conflict
between these terms and specific terms appearing elsewhere on PVEC.net
(including local house rules) then the latter shall prevail.
13. If any of these terms are
determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable by reason of the
laws of any state or country in which these terms are intended to be effective,
then to the extent and within the jurisdiction in which that term is illegal,
invalid or unenforceable, it shall be severed and deleted from these terms and
the remaining terms shall survive, remain in full force and effect and continue
to be binding and enforceable.
14. These terms shall be
governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
